Thank You Card (a Stampin’ Up! post)

A thank you card

It’s been a looooong while since posting about card making or scrapbooking! As the new Stampin’ Up! Catalog debuted this month, the excitement has me itching to get back into my beloved hobby. I’m hoping to post many more cards and projects. I have a baby shower I am planning for my best friend, Amy, so I will have to share with you the excitement and cute things I have come up with. For today, it’s a thank you card. The colors I used were Orchid Opulence (a retired color), So Saffron, and Poppy Parade (in color 2010-2012) The bottom half of the card is embossed using a Big Shot and the textured impressions plate “vintage wallpaper.” This is a very quick and easy card to make. I like to keep things as simple as possible while stamping. I got the inspiration for this card directly off the online shopping page for Stampin’ Up! You can enter the storefront by clicking the paper and ink image on the right of the screen. There are tons of really cute ideas. It goes to show that it doesn’t take pioneering an entire craft, sometimes the best idea is to go with one that’s already tried and true! Why reinvent the wheel, right? πŸ˜‰ We needed a thank you card for the condo we stayed at in Florida. We would not have had a vacation without it!!

Thank You Card Recipe:

So Saffron Cardstock, Poppy Parade Cardstock, Very Vanilla Cardstock, Thank You Kindly Stamp Set, I {Heart} Hearts Stamp set, Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions, Classic Stampin’ Pads in colors Orchid Opulence, Poppy Parade, & So Saffron, paper clip, American Crafts ribbon (although this is almost identical to the NEW Stampin’ Up! ribbons that just came out!!), corner rounder, and pop dots/stampin’ dimensionals

Bicycle Card

Always Time for You

Always Time for You

Ah my first card toΒ  post. I have to say I thought this would be up here DAYS ago. πŸ™‚ It’s been a little busy around here, and I will relish this week as it slows down just a tad. After thinking about all the supplies used in this bicycle card, I realized how much of my Stampin’ Up! collection is retired. It’s always bittersweet to say goodbye to old favorites (especially In Colors), but exciting to know new things are just ahead. I have 2 favorite colors from the In Colors 08-09, Baja Breeze and Kiwi Kiss. I was surprised to see that there isn’t a green per se this time around to replace it. I thought I would surely die without Wild Wasabi, but since I have lived. I suppose this too, shall pass. lol. Stampin’ Up! definitely has something up their sleeve with the retired In Colors, so I am hopeful to see them come back in some way, shape, or form…. we’ll all just have to see!

I could not find a sentiment for this card. I really want to send it off this week to a friend, but I guess I’m not sure what I want it to say… I definitely think Stampin’ Up! should do a sentiment set with random hello/thinking about you type sayings. My favorite kind of cards to send are ones that don’t belong on a holiday πŸ™‚ There’s a little more surprised packed in!

Make sure to pick up all your retiring favorites before July 1st! When they’re gone— They’re GONE! :-O Shop for them HERE!
